Destroy the Image: Frida Kalho

 

The image I chose is a portrait of the late artist Frida Kalho. Frida has always been a very iconic figure in my life, considering she touched on many feministic themes within her work and went against modern standards. I even got to see her artwork and other personal pieces when it was presented at the NC museum of Art in Raleigh, it was truly an extraordinary thing to see. I don't know what I want to do with this image yet but I am inspired by her surrealistic and dream like work and I'd love to represent her themes in this project.
